Understand Custom Axis Chart in Excel step by step example

Dual Axis

Charts can be very useful while representing two different information on a single chart. Ideally these charts are represented with the help of Line Chart. In this article we will create a dual axis chart to represent Sales and Average Sale of each product.

Data Source

Steps to be performed

Select above data
Click on Insert tab
Click on Line Chart under Charts group
Select 2D Line chart as shown below
Say OK

Format Axis

Select the axis that you would like to plot as secondary chart by clicking on the line and Right Click then select Format data series… from the popup as shown below:

A right panel will open to format the data series as shown below where you need to click on Series Options and select Secondary Axis as shown below:
